Loren Crabtree, Scott Martin Recognized as 2023 Break Out Award Winners by Business Insurance

CLEVELAND and BALTIMORE – Oswald Companies’ Loren Crabtree and RCM&D’s Scott Martin have been selected as winners of Business Insurance magazine’s 2023 Break Out awards. The Break Out awards comprises 40 brokers from across the country who are considered the next generation of industry leaders and have less than 15 years of experience.

Based in Cleveland, Loren Crabtree serves as a senior client manager in executive risk for Oswald Companies. She joined the firm in 2021 and currently oversees a substantial book of business. Crabtree’s approach to client service is one predicated on advocacy.  She works tirelessly to find solutions to complex risk exposures while also educating her clients on best practices in order to better position them in the marketplace.

“Loren is a true student of the business and never wants to stop learning,” said Mary Fessler, Oswald team leader and senior client manager.  “She accepts every opportunity she is given to develop her insurance acumen and it truly shows when she speaks to her customers.”

Scott Martin currently serves as RCM&D’s cyber practice leader and is a team leader in the firm’s healthcare division. Working in RCM&D’s Richmond office, Martin helped spearhead URA’s partnership with BitSight, a service offering non-intrusive scans of clients’ cybersecurity controls and protocols to keep them informed of their cyber standing. He also created the Cyber RiskScript process, a program designed to help businesses mitigate and defend against ransomware attacks.

“Cyber liability lines have seen dramatic changes to capacity, coverage, rates and security control expectations over the past few years,” said John Milano, RCM&D management liability practice leader. “Scott has been able to work with the team to develop critical tools to keep client data protected and ensure their business is meeting regulatory changes.”

The 2023 Break Out award winners will be honored at events in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, and profiled in the June issue of Business Insurance.
