CLEVELAND, Nov. 20, 2023 – Unison Risk Advisors has hired Andrew Maisano as its senior vice president of corporate development. He will focus on merger and acquisition strategy. Unison Risk Advisors is the holding company for Oswald Companies of Cleveland, Baltimore-based RCM&D and Miami-based NSI Insurance. Unison Risk Advisors is one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerage and risk management firms.
Maisano earned his Bachelor of Science degree in systems engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served two tours of duty in Afghanistan.
Maisano completed Ranger School, the Army’s premier leadership program, and served in various leadership and staff roles for organizations spanning 30 to 1,200 soldiers.
Following his miliary service, Maisano earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He joined McKinsey & Co. as a management consultant, where he worked with industry-leading companies to address issues in strategy, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational culture.
Maisano’s most recent experience was gained at TravelCenters of America, where he was the vice president of strategy and M&A. There, he was responsible for leading network growth through mergers and acquisitions for the company, both as a publicly traded company and as a subsidiary of BP p.l.c. after the successful $1.3 billion merger this year.
“Andrew’s disciplined and impressive career in the military and beyond has focused on strategic planning and implementation of mergers and acquisitions, and he has succeeded at every turn,” said Robert Klonk, chairman and chief executive officer of Oswald Companies and Unison Risk Advisors. “He will be an integral part of the team as we continue to focus on growth organically and through M&A activity.”
