Ed Bernard currently serves as a Senior Risk Consultant focused on risk management techniques and loss prevention services for businesses and organizations. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Ed was Risk Manager for the Peoplelink Group, Inc. where he implemented comprehensive safety training programs and claims management systems that significantly reduced injuries, lost time and claim costs. Ed was responsible for developing and managing all workers’ compensation, commercial and professional programs, claim investigations, settlements, litigation, assessments of workers’ compensation exposures, the design and implementation of loss prevention policies and procedures, and safety training programs to prevent or reduce employee injury and exposures, and identifying, measuring and managing insurable or hazard risks.

Ed was first involved in loss prevention starting in 1985 at the University of Notre Dame where he was responsible for loss control and recovery of physical and financial assets and security for campus retail operations for 19 years. Following Notre Dame, Ed was Senior Director of Campus Operations at Bethel University for 15 years where he managed facilities, grounds, food services, retail operations and campus construction projects, and chaired the campus Health and Safety Committee. Ed also has a background in manufacturing, construction and fleet management. Ed’s broad experience allows him to identify risks and provide a holistic, proactive approach to designing and implementing risk management methods.
